Q: If I need further information who do I contact?
Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will answer your questions as soon as we can. Staff are in the office on Tuesdays and Thursday term time.
Q: How will I know how my child is getting on?
At the end of term you will be emailed a written report telling you what outcomes they have passed and what they need to do to improve. You can also email to ask at any time.
Q: Is there somewhere I can go during the lessons?
Yes there is a room downstairs past reception on the right. You can stay in the warm.
Q: Can I watch my child swimming?
Yes there is a space where you can watch your child swim, however it is outside looking through the windows. At the moment we have scaffolding up so this is not available this term.
Q: How many swimmers are there in a class?
We have 8 children in a class with 2 teachers in the water in station 1, 2 & 3.
Q: What do I need to bring with me?
Swimming costume, towel, swimming hat (We provide all other equipment) We do have an ABC shop.
Q: What age can my baby start swimming lessons?
In the baby and toddler sessions we take children from 6 month’s old. When you book we send you and information sheet about the lessons.
Q: How many are there in a class for the baby and toddler swimming lessons?
There are 12 in a class with one teacher in the water and support teacher from the side of the pool.
Q: What will I learn if I bring my baby / toddler to the swimming lessons?
We have 32 years’ experience at teaching babies to swim. The main aim of the lessons is to teach you how to teach your child to swim with skills such as safety, floatation, rotation, entry and exits, streamlining, orientation, submersion and aquatic breathing.
Q: What age can my child start swimming lessons on their own?
The classes that start at stage 1 children need to be at least 3 ½ however 4 is a better age for these lessons.
Q: Do I have to go in the pool with my child?
No as a rule all children from 3 ½ upwards go into the water on their own with the teachers, however if you child needs a parent in the water to help with the transition this can be possible with discussion and prior arrangement with ABC.
Q: Do you have lessons for adults?
Yes on Saturdays 4 – 5pm which includes group and one to one lessons.
Q: Do I have to book a course?
Yes, we run 12 week courses. Trial lessons can be arranged at £8 a lesson for 30 minute classes or £11.50 a lesson for 1 hour classes.
