I was an active member of Eltham Training and Swimming club throughout my teenage years and rejoined again in 2000 as a parent of keen swimmers. In between finding my love of swimming again, I did some voluntary coaching on poolside. In 2008 I completed my Level 1 Teaching Aquatics and gained my Level 2 qualification in 2009.

I joined ABC swim school in 2010 and also teach Parent and Child swimming with GLL at Eltham Leisure centre. I really enjoy working for ABC as it very well organised with clear schemes of work to follow. I am able to draw on the experiences of the other teachers and the on-going training from Alison and the Aquability TTC keeps me up to date with new activities and teaching techniques. I enjoy seeing my pupils’ progress and the sense of satisfaction when a child, who was initially very reluctant, swims their first width!

I still love to swim and like to take a dip at Charlton lido on a cold morning when the steam is coming off the pool. I have swam in 4 Channel swim relays and also visit Lake Windermere every year for some open water training! I am a keen runner and have run marathons, although, really, I prefer a gentle run round the local woods chatting to friends!
